When a friend told me about graciesgear, I instantly thought the idea of a bra that can carry multiple gu's is exactly what i need! I like to take at least four gu's when I race a marathon... yet it has always been a challenge figuring out how to carry them. It can get pretty uncomfortable and bulky trying to shove too much stuff into the little pockets on racing shorts.
When it was time to train for the 2010 Eugene Marathon, i decided to give a graciesgear bra a try. I was not disappointed. The bra easily carried all my gu's without feeling uncomfortable or overly bulky. The zipper was also very easy to open so i could access my gu's without a struggle. I decided to wear the bra for my marathon...and a lot was on the line. I wanted to qualify for my fourth Olympic Marathon Trials, so everything had to go right. The bra worked perfectly. Even though my hands don't work very well once they get cold, I could still very
easily open the zipper and access my gu's every time. In the end, I accomplished my goal: i qualifed for the trials and I won the marathon! It was a great day, which was made a lot easier by wearing the right gear, including my graciesgear bra! I will definetely be wearing another one when I run in the trials in 2012!

Personal
I work full time at Big Peach Running Co. as the Manager of Special Events and Marketing. My favorite things to do are train, compete, and help others fall in love with the sport of running as well as living a healthy and active lifestyle. I have run for 7 years. My goals are to qualify for the Olympic Trials in the marathon, improve my times in all distances, be more competive, and have fun!
Athletic Accomplishments
I have completed 12 marathons with a PR of 2:54. I was the 5th Female at the ING GA Marathon and placed 6th US Female at the '07 Twin Cities Marathon. I have completed the Boston Marathon 2x and was the youngest running in 2004! I ran for Kennesaw State University, while there I won a Conference Championship and was named a Scholar Athlete. I love to race all distances on roads and trails of all distances.
Gracies Gear has become vital in my everyday training and racing. I spend hours a day working out and it is a nice way to keep my nutrition and entertainment with me. I no longer have things hanging off me or getting chaffed from my Gu's pinned to my shorts. It sure makes a great impact on how I perform!

"As a professional golfer, physical fitness is an extremely important part
of my performing at a high level. I now wear Gracie's Gear to workout in
because it's so much more comfortable and flattering than any of the brand
name workout tops that I have tried. Not only is Gracie's Gear more
breathable and better-looking, it is also extremely functional with the
innovative Power Pouch that holds my MP3 player while I am either running,
lifting weights, or on the elliptical."

"My running partners use to make fun of me when I would run home from work carring my keys, blackberry, and credit cards in a ziplock bag in my bra. Now with this sport bra I don't have to worry about those items falling or bothering me while i am running. I have my very own pocket which is so comfortable I never feel like I am running with any of those items yet I am being efficient. Thank you Gracie!"

I was searching through apparel items at the Gasparilla Distance Classic expo looking for an efficient way to store my gels when I run. I discovered GG and my search ended! I am self-conscious about how I look in running bras, but I found that GG complimented my figure. The pouch is so easy to access with enough “storage” for my long races and training runs.
Dana started running in 1983 in high school when she realized that she was too clumsy to make the varsity soccer team. She soon excelled in cross-country and outdoor track in Massachusetts. Dana won the New England high school 2-mile championship in 11:11. She competed for the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, but was hampered by injuries. After college, Dana dabbled in the marathon. It took a several years of training to finally break 3:00. After barely missing in 1996, Dana qualified for the 2000 Women’s Olympic Trials in the marathon by running 2:47 at the Hartford Marathon. Dana ran a 2:45 at the Las Vegas Marathon to qualify for the 2004 Women’s Olympic Trials. After an unexpected caesarian birth of her daughter, Dana decided to forgo the 2004 Trials. Currently, she is trying to qualify for the 2008 Trials. Throughout her running career, Dana has made life-long running friends who share a special connection and passion with her.

Sonya Billiard
Gracie’s Gear has cleverly designed a functional and technical sports bra superior to anything that I have personally worn – it is essential to my training and I have never competed in any of my marathons without it! In races where I have worn this bra, I have comfortably carried up to three sports gels, a car or hotel key, and first aid items, including band-aids, WITH ease and WITHOUT chafing.
It is the perfect support system! I consider being able to take energy gels throughout the Canadian national marathon, without breaking my stride, a major factor to a personal best of 3:10 and placing 18th female overall in an elite field.“ I also love wearing it to yoga class and I have to say, it is an added bonus that while working out and competing as hard as any guy, the GG style and colors are so attractive that I still feel like a girl!
Sonya started her running career in her 30’s - a late bloomer! After completing a 5K training program at Duke, Lauren encouraged her to consider long distance and coached her to her first marathon. There started a wonderful coaching relationship and friendship that continues to this day; it was at this time that Sonya started training and racing in the first ever GG bra! In her marathon, Sonya qualified for Boston and ran a strong finish, 107th female overall. Her PB is a 3:10 finish in Ottawa, where she currently resides and trains. In 2005, Sonya was sponsored locally by New Balance on Vancouver Island, Canada and was competitive in her age group at all race distances (5K to half marathon). She has also competed in the Masters division of the BC and Canadian Cross Country Championships. Her goal is to train for a sub-3h finish at the Chicago marathon in fall 2007.

Brenna Crowson
“I fell in love with Gracie’s Gear the very first time I put on that special top with the innovative Power Pouch. So many times I set out for a run or a bike ride carrying my gel, my iPOD, my inhaler (diagnosed with asthma at age 18 months) and my keys. What a sight and what a mess if anyone of those things slipped out of my hands! So, the Power Pouch was an answer to my prayers. Many of my clients have the same issues and after showing them the unique top, they’re now wearing Gracie’s Gear for each and every workout! Of course, it’s nice to have workout clothes that are not only functional but flattering as well. “
Brenna Crowson, Certified personal trainer, fitness coach, avid runner and soon to be black belt in San Shin Kai Karate, currently holds the North Carolina State record in the 5k distance, 45-49 age bracket at 18:53. Her passion is finding ways to ignite the fitness light in others’ lives through motivational training and healthy lifestyle coaching. For nearly 9 years, Brenna traveled with Interactive Fitness Trainers of America certifying Fitness Professionals across the country in Group Exercise, Personal Training, Indoor Studio Cycling and Flexibility Training. Brenna currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband and two grown children.

Hilary Dudley
“Thank goodness Gracie created the Power Pouch. I don't know how I would have trained for and raced marathons without it. It's tough fitting in running with my work schedule so I need to be able to run to and from work. But to do that, I need somewhere to carry my keys, ID, and cell phone while I run. And that's exactly what the power pouch allows me to do! As for racing, every marathon runner knows you need to find a place to stick your gels that won't cause chaffing. The power pouch is the perfect place."
Hilary is a marathon runner from Boston, Massachusetts. She and Brett train and compete with the Boston Athletic Association, which runs the Boston Marathon. Hilary's marathon personal best is 2:54 at Chicago in October 2006. She proudly finished her first marathon (the Boston Marathon) in 3:04 in April 2006.
Hilary has been an avid runner since her high school days in Ottawa, Ontario. She earned numerous provincial medals and in her last year as a junior she came 3rd at the Canadian Championships in the 1500m, qualifying her to compete for Canada at the North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Championships in the Cayman Islands. Hilary then went on to compete as a varsity track and cross country athlete for the University of Notre Dame in Indiana as an undergraduate and Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia as a law student. At Dalhousie, Hilary was a member of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) national champion cross country team and won the 3000m at the CIS Indoor Track Championships, earning All-Canadian and Academic All-Canadian honors.

Brett Romano
“One of the biggest challenges of marathon planning is figuring out when to take in gels, and more importantly, where to store them during the race. I have tried pinning or clipping them on everything from my shorts to the inside of my hat. The power pouch completely solved this problem. The zippered pocket makes the gels so easy to access, and even has room for a hotel key card, so I don’t have to worry about losing it in the bag check.”
Brett has been training for and racing marathons since completing her collegiate career at James Madison University. She won her debut at the distance, running 2:57 for first place among women in the 2002 Raleigh marathon. In her second marathon, she dropped her time a full ten minutes and qualified to compete in the 2004 U.S. Women’s Olympic Trials. In October of 2006 at the Chicago marathon, she again ran an Olympic Trials Qualifying time and personal best of 2:46:12. She looks forward to running the 2008 Olympic Trials marathon in her hometown of Boston, Ma. |
