Gracie is Running Chicago For Cancer
After just having my son Ryan Mitchell Updyke on July 2nd I have decided to train for the Chicago Marathon while supporting a local Pediactric Cancer Foundation called Bear Necessities. Those who know me well, know how passionate I am about helping those who are fighting cancer and how children are my world.

Prior to his death on January 9, 1993, Bear and his mother learned of the many hidden needs of both patient and family members. To this day Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation is dedicated to eliminate pediatric cancer and to provide hope and support to those who are touched by it. Bear Necessities three main programs are:
Small Miracle Program
– Immediate patient and family services
Annual Research Funding
– Funding national junior investigative researchers
Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation’s mission is to eliminate pediatric cancer and to provide hope and support to those who are touched by it. During the foundation’s 14-year history, over 80% of its revenue has supported the mission through its programs and services.Information and Support Services
– Family support programs, educational pamphlets, parking tokens, bone marrow donor programs, cord blood banking programs, etc..
